Alex. Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to everyone who uses Alex, including members, clients and coaches. It forms part of our Terms of Service and Coach Terms. It helps keep Alex safe and helps us meet our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023.

1. You must not use Alex to:

1. break the law, or post, send or share illegal content of any kind, including threats, harassment, stalking, hate, terrorism content, intimate images shared without consent, or any content that sexualises children; 2. bully, harass, abuse, intimidate or discriminate against anyone, including coaches, clients and our staff; 3. send spam or unsolicited marketing, or ask other users for money outside legitimate coaching arrangements; 4. impersonate anyone, give false information about yourself (including your age, qualifications or insurance), or create an account for someone else without their permission; 5. upload content you do not have the right to share, or other people's personal or health information without their permission; 6. encourage or promote eating disorders, self-harm, dangerous dieting, or the use of illegal or unsafe substances (including anabolic steroids and unlicensed medicines); 7. give medical, diagnostic or prescribing advice to other users unless you are appropriately qualified and registered and it is lawful to do so; 8. try to get the AI coach to ignore its safety rules, produce harmful content, or reveal its instructions (sometimes called "jailbreaking" or "prompt injection"); 9. copy, scrape, crawl, data-mine, reverse-engineer, decompile or overload the Service, its content, prompts or models (except to the extent the law allows), or use it to build or train a competing product; 10. interfere with security, test for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or access accounts or data that are not yours; or 11. upload viruses or other harmful code.

2. Reporting and blocking

  • →You can report a message, a coach, a client or any content through Help → Report a problem, or the report option in messages, or by emailing hello@getalex.app.
  • →In messages, you can block or disconnect the other person at any time.
  • →We review reports as quickly as we can and prioritise anything involving a risk to someone's safety. If you think someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
  • →We will tell you what we did about your report where we can, and you can complain about our decision through www.getalex.app/complaints.

3. What we may do

If we reasonably believe someone has broken this policy, we may remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend or close accounts, and, where appropriate, report the matter to the police or other authorities. We will act proportionately, and where we can we will tell the person why. Coaches have additional rights to a statement of reasons under the Coach Terms.
